Wild Camp Nantlle Ridge Snowdonia
Wild Camp Nantlle Ridge Snowdonia - It seems like ages since I was last in the Snowdonia mountains for some landscape photography.
But on this trip out I was able to find time to head up the Nantlle Ridge and the summit of Graig Cwm Silyn for a one night wild camp.
I was aiming to photograph sunset and sunrise, and camp near the summit cairn with a tarp and bivvy set up. It was mid-summers day and the weather was warm and sunny.
Not ideal for landscape photography, but perfect for hiking and camping. So I'd take whatever conditions I got and have a very enjoyable time however the photography turned out!
The Nantlle Ridge is a very well known hiking route in the Eifionydd range of mountains to the south west of the main Snowdon range. It runs from Rhyd Ddu in the north east down to Carnedd Goch and Cwm Pennant in the south west.
Being set to one side of the main Snowdonia high peaks areas it has fabulously extensive lines of sight as there are no peaks blocking the views. I hoped to make the most of this and also capture some good sunrise images of the Nantlle Ridge leading up to Snowdon.
