SYMMETRY composition

SYMMETRY composition in Landscape Photography

SYMMETRY composition in Landscape Photography - In this 44th episode about landscape photography in Iceland, I cover the compositional element of symmetry and reflection at different locations in Eastern Iceland.

Symmetry is such a basic human aesthetic we just can't ignore it. For that reason, it is a very strong compositional element and one you can use in many different ways.

In this video, I show how you can use reflections to create symmetry, both with and without a foreground and how you can create symmetry without reflections.

I also reveal one of my all-time favorite photos from Iceland, a northern lights photo from Stokksnes.
