A windy morning at Crosby

A windy morning at Crosby – What did I learn today ? Long exposure photography + high winds is not a great combination !

On the plus side, being shot blasted by sand really does work wonders on your complexion …bit drastic though ? I could hear the wind howling along the beach from the car park but I was determined to have a go & see if I could salvage the morning .

I’m not sure I’ve ever had the camera out in such wild conditions , everything got covered in sand , I spent forever cleaning the filters as the sea spray & intermittent rain made my life even more difficult BUT , I got the image I’d been after although it may not be the sharpest image ever .

I also learnt it’s possible to contort my body in to some very odd shapes in a vain attempt to shield the tripod & camera from the wind… I’m sure the local dog walkers must have wondered what the hell I was doing ?
